The history of Ribeira de Piquín is a present with Roman past and Celtic and precentic archaeological remains. The first references of Ribeira de Piquín date back to the eleventh century. A territory where there were several revolts against the feudal lord and also in the XII century there were revealed against the French invasion.

This land populated since very ancient times, has its municipal capital in Chao do Pousadoiro. A beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and places with architectural treasures that retain all their character.

Ribeira de Piquín is linked to Terras de Burón. Establishing itself in 1935 as the City Council.
