The first hospital in Galicia, entering by the Primitive Way towards Santiago de Compostela, a place to make a stop along the way, or simply contemplate a piece of history, in a unique place.
This hospital of pilgrims, also known as Santiago de Montouto, located in the Sierra de Montouto, at the foot of Mount O Muradal, in the town hall of A Fonsagrada, within the Biosphere Reserve Eo-Oscos-Terras de Burón and Red Natura 2000, has spectacular views.
Its origins date back to 1357, had some reform and remained inhabited until the beginning of the twentieth century, today in ruins, where four united buildings can be observed, including kitchen, bedrooms, stables and a small chapel dedicated to Santiago.
The beauty of the landscape, is increased with the Dolmen de As Pedras Dereitas, in a privileged space next to the hospital, this neolithic dolmen, despite its antiquity, retains all its splendor.
