The Primitive Way of Santiago is one of the pilgrimage routes that lead to the Apostle Santiago. A path without crowds from which two of its stages run through the territory of Terras de Burón.
Alfonso II was the first recognized pilgrim to approach Santiago from Oviedo via Terras de Burón to check the veracity of the find of the remains of the Apostle and worship him.

In total, from Oviedo to Santiago there are 321.4 kilometers, so enjoying nature and tourist activities in almost half of the Camino, in Terras de Burón, is very rewarding.
Two stages of the Camino Primitivo run through the Terras de Burón region: stage 7 that takes us from Grandas de Salime to Fonsagrada, a 26.3-kilometer route, and stage 8, in which we travel 24.3 kilometers from A Fonsagrada to O Cádavo, Baleira.
